Bridal Rings & Wedding Bands from Avonlea Jewelry

If you’re thinking about getting married to that very special someone, then it’s time to start thinking about bridal rings. If you’re to the point where you’re seriously considering getting married, it’s never too soon to start thinking about what kind of ring (or rings) to get, and the sooner you start planning the better you’ll feel about your ultimate decision.  Here are some tips from the experts here at Avonlea Jewelry that can help you find exactly the ring you’re looking for.

Bridal Rings, Bridal Sets, and Wedding Sets

The first thing you’ll want to do is to make sure you understand the different lingo when it comes to wedding rings, as there are several different terms, and they each have very specific meanings.  Of course, in most cases, there will be an engagement ring involved.  Not all couples choose to go with an engagement ring to signify that a woman is engaged, but most couples do. In many cases, the engagement ring is bought separately. However, it’s quite common to purchase engagement rings as part of a set.  There are two kinds of sets when it comes to wedding rings: a bridal set consists of two rings, an engagement ring for the bride, along with a matching wedding band.  Then there’s the wedding set, which is a matching engagement ring and wedding band for the bride, along with a matching wedding band for the groom.  So a bridal set is two rings, both for the bride, while a wedding set involves three rings, including one for the groom. Knowing the difference between these terms will help you make the right decision about your best option when it comes to bridal rings.

The Advantages of Bridal Sets and Wedding Sets

When it comes to bridal rings, there are many a lot of different reasons you might want to consider going with a bridal set or a wedding set.  The first one is simplicity.  While a wedding is one of the most joyous occasions in all of life, let’s face it – actually planning the wedding is very hard work, and can take up lots of time, over several months.  After the wedding is over, many brides say they wish they’d spent a lot less time and worry on the planning phase, as it would have relieved them of quite a bit of stress in the days and weeks before the happiest day of their life.  Anything you can do to make this period less stressful can be a huge help, and purchasing a matching bridal ring set at the engagement means you won’t have to worry about later finding a wedding band that’s a great match.

Convenience is another benefit of choosing a bridal ring set, instead of purchasing the engagement ring and wedding band separately. Another important factor is money – you’ll almost always save money by buying a matching set of rings instead of purchasing two or three rings separately, and the savings can be quite substantial. (This can also help reduce stress levels during the wedding planning phase!) And don’t worry about having trouble finding a really lovely bridal ring set, because the styles and options are virtually limitless.  Your problem won’t be finding a set you love; on the contrary, it will be picking just one out of the many gorgeous bridal sets and wedding sets available in all price ranges.

Many Different Kinds of Bridal Rings Are Available

At Avonlea Jewelry, we strive to make sure you can find just the right ring for you and your fiancé.  We know that everyone has different tastes, preferences, and budgets, so rest assured that you’ll find a wide selection of many different bridal rings to choose from for the new bride here at Avonlea.  You’ll find rings made from the most popular metals – platinum, white gold, and yellow gold.  These are the tradition metals used in wedding band and engagement rings, but if you’re looking for something different, just let us know, and we can certainly show you some different options.

If you’re going with a bridal set or wedding set, traditionally, most people choose to use the same metal for the rings in the set.  But there’s certainly no law that says you are required to.  If you prefer bridal rings made from one metal and a groom’s ring made from another, or the bride’s engagement ring and wedding band made from two different metals, those choices are perfectly acceptable.  It’s your decision, and whatever you and your fiancé like best are what you should choose.

One thing to keep in mind when thinking about which metals to choose is that when they’re new, white gold rings and platinum rings look very much alike.  However, as they age, the difference between the two metals will become more noticeable. Another factor to consider when choosing a wedding band is that a ring that is encircled by diamonds can be very difficult to resize if there comes a time when the ring no longer fits.

We also carry rings featuring all the most popular shapes – Round, Princess, Cushion, Oval, Emerald, Pear, Radiant, Asscher, Marquise, and Heart. You can read more about these different shapes on our engagement rings page.  And, just as with the metals, while these are definitely the most common and popular diamond shapes, if you or your fiancé has a different preference, just let us know, because they’re definitely not the only options available.

How Much Should You Spend on Bridal Rings?

When it comes to bridal rings, engagement rings, wedding rings, bridal sets, or wedding sets, there are options available to fit nearly everyone’s budgets.  If you’re on a tight budget, your options will be limited, but you can still find something that looks very nice. On the other hand, if you want to really go all out, there’s really no limit on how much you can spend on wedding jewelry.  Of course, the vast majority of us will fall somewhere between these two poles. So how much should you plan to spend when you purchase bridal rings?

That’s a very personal decision, of course.  However, for comparison’s sake, it’s possible to know if what you’re planning to spend is in the average range when it comes to the cost of bridal rings.  According to a recent study, the average amount that people spend on bridal rings is right around $6,000.  By far, most of this goes toward the engagement ring – the average amount spent on an engagement ring is $5800, while the wedding band accounts for $200-400 more on average.  So, while only you can decide how much to spend, the current average gives you an excellent idea of what most couples are spending these days.
