Avonlea Scholarship

At Avonlea, we are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected communities all across the United States, creating an impact that will last for generations. As time goes on, concerns for health and safety, job security, finances, and continued education continue to grow.

As a way to help ease the financial burden of furthering education during this time, we are excited to offer a scholarship of $1,000 to students who are entering or are already enrolled in high school or college. Students with any major can apply.

What do we need from you?

For a chance to receive the $1,000 scholarship, students will need to submit a 200-500-word essay describing how COVID-19 has affected them personally. There are three prompts to choose from:

    1. My experience with the pandemic has been one of the most important/impactful things that has ever happened to me. Describe your experience and what values and skills you have obtained that you will bring with you to college.
    2. I faced significant challenges during the pandemic. Describe these challenges and how they will impact you as you go to college.
    3. During the pandemic, I donated or contributed to the needs of my community. Describe your experience and how contributing has impacted you.
